Mrs C.M. Brooker

Appointed as the Chief Executive Officer when Areté Learning Trust came into fruition in April 2015, I am committed to realising the benefits of strong collaboration between our academies, rooted in the principles outlined in our Scheme of Delegation:
  • creative partnership, open dialogue & shared resources providing more than the sum of their parts
  • excellence in leadership, pedagogy, training, development and support shared effectively to secure a positive impact on the lives of the greatest number of children and young people
  • a culture in which children and young people, regardless of their starting point or setting, have the right to an outstanding education, and, most importantly, one that prepares them to thrive as enterprising, global citizens in a fast-changing world.

I draw on extensive experience in senior leadership in a variety of schools in different parts of the country and a passionate belief in the power of education to transform the lives of young people.

Biography

Since my very early career as a teacher in East London when I was a staff governor, I have held the view that effective governance is vital. Subsequently a governor at Reading School, where I was Head of Years 12 / 13 and working closely with school governors as Head of Sixth Form in Reading and Deputy Head in High Wycombe, I have seen the role evolve.

A governor of the Henley College, a corporation, in my previous headship, as well as choosing to be a governor in my own school as well as here at Stokesley, my experience is extensive and serves me well in ensuring that our governing body is well equipped to fulfil the strategic responsibility of offering support and challenge to my team of school leaders.
